ECC PTC Board Members
 
All ECC families are members of the PTC with full benefits and voting privileges.  The parents below have taken on leadership roles in the organization.  If you see something that interests you or notice something missing, please let us know. 
 
In addition to Board positions, the PTC is always looking for volunteers to assist with special events and activities.
 

Chair:  Pam Venti

Provide overall leadership to the PTC; run monthly meetings; communicate with Preschool Director, staff and Newman Principal; represent the ECC in the community and advocate on behalf of it; work with Board members to develop projects and events; take on additional tasks as necessary.

 

Curriculum Enrichment Programming:  Melissa Gallagher and Sara Federow

Work with preschool staff to develop appropriate programs to enrich student learning experiences; organize and attend monthly curriculum enrichment programs for students.

 

Fundraising & Treasurer:  Myrna Zakarian

Handle the PTC’s income and expense items; prepare an annual budget and monthly financial reports.  Coordinate all PTC fundraising efforts such as Annual Fund Drive and Holiday Drive; develop and implement new fundraising activities as needed.

 

Secretary:  OPEN

Prepare and distribute minutes from monthly PTC meetings.

 

Communications:  Web – Sara Federow  Email – Cathlin Chao

Oversee all communications between the PTC and families.  Maintain PTC website and send weekly

e-newsletters to parents; maintain and distribute preschool directory.

 

Special Events:  OPEN

Organize PTC special events such as Back-to-School Popsicle Party, Parent Coffees, Picture Day, Family Playdates, Preschool Springfest, End-of-Year Picnic and parents-only social events.

 

Newman PTC Liaison:  OPEN

Serve as liaison between the ECC PTC and the Newman Elementary PTC; attend monthly meetings of both organizations and report to both PTCs about relevant issues.

 

SEPAC Liaisons:  Cathy Corbett and Sara Federow

Serve as the ECC’s liaison to the Special Education Parent Advisory Council; attend meetings with special education administrators and serve as contact point for preschool parents regarding special education issues.

 

Community Service Coordinator:  Marybeth McFarland

Work with staff to develop community service activities appropriate for the preschool such as food and toy drives; oversee and organize these activities.

 

Room Parents:

Serve as contact point among parents, teachers and the PTC; help organize PTC special events; encourage class participation in PTC activities and fundraisers; welcome new families who join your classroom throughout the year; assist teachers with class events and other projects as needed.
